Effective May 20, 2005, the process for receiving clarification notification for Host On Demand (HOD) and manual Access Service Requests (ASRs) has been changed. This change was implemented to allow a choice of fax or e-mail.

Prior to May 20, 2005:

• If both the initiator fax and e-mail fields were populated, the clarification would be sent via fax.

After May 20, 2005:

• If the e-mail address is populated and the fax number is not, the clarification will be sent via e-mail.
• If the fax number is populated and the e-mail is not, the clarification will be sent via fax.
• If both the e-mail and fax number are populated, the clarification will be sent via e-mail.
• If neither the fax nor e-mail is populated, an error message should display: Either e-mail address or fax number is required.

To ensure the customer receives the Firm Order Commitment (FOC) the initiator fax number will have to be populated as the FOC will still go via fax for manual and HOD customers.
